THE SHEEP DETECTIVES (PG)

Wednesday 17 June 2026 2pm & 7pm

Running time 109 minutes

Sheep turn sleuths after shepherd’s murder, inspired by bedtime mysteries he once read aloud.

Each night, a devoted shepherd reads gripping murder mysteries aloud to his flock, convinced they understand every twist and turn. When he is suddenly found dead, the sheep are certain it is no accident and that they already know exactly how to solve it. Drawing on everything they’ve heard, they set out to investigate, convinced the clues, suspects, and motives will follow the same patterns as the stories they love.

But real life proves far messier than fiction. As the flock begins to question what they think they know, their journey becomes both a mystery and a discovery of their own unexpected intelligence. Moving quietly through fields, farms, and neighbouring lands, they piece together fragments of truth while avoiding danger and human suspicion.

Blending gentle humour with suspense, this unusual tale offers a fresh perspective on the classic whodunnit. It explores instinct, loyalty, and the gap between what we believe and what is real. As the sheep close in on the truth, they uncover not just the identity of the killer, but a deeper understanding of themselves and the world beyond their pasture.
