WATERSMEET THEATRE MANANGER

The Role: 
Reporting to the Head of Communications, Customer & Culture, you will have overall responsibility for the efficient and effective management of Watersmeet, overseeing shows, films, hires, events and the annual pantomime. You will lead a dedicated team and work collaboratively across the council to shape the future direction of the venue.


You will also contribute towards the wider Communications, Customer & Culture Service, environmental sustainability initiatives, and occasional council-wide duties, including support for elections when required.
 
What we are looking for:
You will be an experienced and confident arts venue professional with a strong track record of live theatre programming and managing a busy theatre or cultural venue. You bring strong financial and operational management skills, experience of leading and developing staff and volunteers, and a clear commitment to delivering excellent customer and audience experiences. You are commercially aware, highly organised and able to balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery in a fast-paced environment. You demonstrate political awareness and are confident working within a local government context, including engaging with councillors, contributing to reports and presenting information to committees. With excellent communication and relationship building skills, you work effectively with artists, partners and colleagues, and bring a flexible, resilient and proactive approach to meeting challenges.

We're always on the lookout for casual bar, technical and box office staff who can contribute to our team. Full training will be given.


Watersmeet Volunteers

We rely on the dedication and enthusiasm of volunteers who help shape the vibrant atmosphere we're known for. Watersmeet is always looking for volunteers to assist with ushering and light front of house duties.  Full training is given and this is a great way to meet new friends and help out in the community.
