From fame to friendship, a fallen TV host and clever girl rescue joeys, hearts collide.

Set against the vast beauty of Australia’s remote Outback, this heart-warming family comedy follows Chris, a once-celebrated TV host whose public fall from grace has left him stranded, both professionally and personally. Sent to a remote community in a last-ditch attempt at image repair, Chris expects isolation and humiliation. Instead, he meets Charlie, a sharp-witted, big-hearted Indigenous girl who sees straight through his performative charm and isn’t impressed by fame.

When a group of orphaned joeys is discovered after a devastating bush incident, Charlie’s deep connection to Country and wildlife brings her into conflict and unexpected partnership with Chris. Forced to swap scripts for shovels and sound bites for real responsibility, Chris reluctantly joins Charlie in rescuing and rehabilitating the vulnerable animals. What begins as a self-serving PR exercise quickly becomes something far more meaningful.

As they work side by side, cultural wisdom meets clumsy modern ego, sparking humour, mishaps, and genuine growth. Charlie teaches Chris to listen: to people, to land, and to himself, while Chris learns that redemption isn’t earned through applause, but through care, accountability, and community.

Full of warmth, laughter, and kangaroo chaos, the film is a joyful celebration of connection, healing, and the unlikely friendships that can change us for good.
