West Herts College
GISELLE

19 & 20 May 2026 7pm

A reimagining of Giselle by West Herts students unfolds through diverse dance styles, drama, betrayal and tragedy.

We have used the original story from GISELLE and adapted it to fit the dance genres our students study on their BTEC course. This includes Jazz, commercial, ballet, tap and contemporary to a wide variety of music, hopefully to suit everyone’s taste.

Our story is told by Anna, the Wedding Planner.

Scene 1 - Introduces the characters; Albert proposes to Giselle, who accepts, and both the Bride and Groom’s family and friends prepare for the wedding.

Scene 2 - Giselle’s wedding to Albert…

Starts beautifully and ends in disaster as Albert and the Chief Bridesmaid’s affair becomes visible to all. This sends Giselle into a frenzy, ending up with her being removed for her own safety.

Scene 3 - In the Asylum

Giselle is taken to the asylum, where Albert and the chief bridesmaid make a failed attempt to rescue Giselle. It takes Albert’s Gran to do the job successfully with devastating consequences.

Tickets: £10 adults, £6 concessions
