Steve Best as Philippe Philoppe

Steve has built up a reputation as a great visual comic, harnessing a mind-boggling array of gadgets and gags to keep his audience in stitches.

Funny, frenetic and mad, he has a unique form of slapstick comedy; he plays the guitar like a genius, is wonderful at magic, and fluent in Serbo-Croatian. He blasted onto the comedy scene and is a regular on the nationwide comedy circuit.

As a headline act, Steve has performed internationally, including in Hong Kong, Thailand, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bali, Shanghai, South Africa, The Falkland Islands, Bosnia, Kosovo, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Spain, Greece, Ireland and Italy.
He has supported Frank Skinner (including at Battersea Power Station), Omid Djalili and Craig Charles on their UK tours, as well as headlined an extensive university tour. Steve co-wrote and performed two sketch shows, Death by Sketches and Skitzaphrantic for the Edinburgh Festival.

His numerous TV appearances include starring in The Big Stage (Channel 5), The Stand Up Show (BBC), Weapons of Mass Distraction (ITV) and a short film, Life as we know it (Film 4 / Channel 4). He was the warm-up performer for the Skinner & Baddiel Unplanned live TV show as well as for Frank Skinner’s chat show.

In 2005, he co-foundered Abnormally Funny People Ltd to showcase the talents of disabled comedians. The group performed for several years at the Edinburgh Festival and in theatres, universities and comedy venues throughout the UK. They will be back at the Edinburgh Festival in 2025 for their 20th anniversary.

Steve recently started a YouTube Channel, Steve Best Shoots, interviewing performers while taking their pictures.
